What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Sunbeam Service Experts is here with some of the most typical cooling problems in Buffalo.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Sunbeam Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity can cause more condensation so another issue to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can check these things, you may be able to find the problem; if not, give Sunbeam Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause major cooling problems. Another issue that could cause your lack of cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Sunbeam Service Experts will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be all set. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, Sunbeam Service Experts is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get you comfortable quickly.
