We are trudging through the last of the weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during cool nights. Nothing is worse than laying down at night just to realize your furnace won’t start up. If your furnace won’t turn on, here are some things you can check yourself prior to calling Sunbeam Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you do not, they can become clogged, restricting air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, make sure the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but verify the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently flipped to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating equipment will still not kick on, give Sunbeam Service Experts a call at 716-427-6807 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
